NANOPLEX presents: HERMAN DUNE KID'S SHOW
Last time Herman Dune played the Cube they stayed for two nights due to popular demand. This time they plan to fit two shows into one lazy Sunday: a matinee for children of all ages, plus an evening show.
HERMAN DUNE KID'S MATINEE with The Junior Kochalka Puppet Theatre, animations + DJs
Lovewig & Milo. Nanoplex invites you to an afternoon brimming with entertain suitable
for all.As well as a specially devised performance from Herman Dune, you can look
forward to The Junior Kochalka Puppet Theatre, animations from Russia (including
Hedgehog In the Fog), and usherettes with ginger bread men for the hungry! In the bar
the winter's chill will be lifted by Lovewig and (introducing) DJ Milo.

ANIMATE! NANOPLEX HALF TERM WORKSHOPS - SCRATCH ANIMATION
The Nanoplex team is delighted to invite budding animators to the Cube for half term animation workshops.
The participants will learn how to make an animated sequence without a
camera- by painting, drawing & scratching directly onto 16 mm and 35 mm
film stock and create motion with fluid lines and colours. This fun, lo-fi
approach to film making will take place at the Cube Cinema, 10 am - 1 pm
from Tuesday 14th -Friday 17th, with a sharing event on Saturday the 18th.
The fee for each session is 2- or 10 for attending all. The sessions are
for children aged 6 and over.Younger children are welcome to attend
accompanied by an adult.

Two of the most compelling songwriters collaborate especially for the children of Bristol. PATICK and DUNCAN say "Take the cotton wool out of you ears and put it to your mouth" I wonder what we can expect? :: TIM GREAVES brings plastic toys and wooden dolls to tell a story. Objects are animated by drills and bicycle parts - a fairy tale whose content is secondary to the multi media / fine art interpretation where characters and scenes are given a new twisted slant
two very very short films by international artist ANDREW MANIA from his collection of Moving Stills :: ~ 'Violet and Turquoise' is a 12 minute 30 second lovingly drawn 2D animation about a teenage girl in the early 60s by JOFF WINTERHART. a mixture of authentic looking magazines, dress patterns, music and popular TV created to make the film and portray the whirling imagination of Violet as she is trying to find herself, and fit in :
THE USHERETTES will be making sure everyone is welcome & comfortable and
may even have some goodies in there boxes :: DJ MILO smallest DJ in town.

NANOPLEX IN ASSOCIATION WITH TRAVELING MAN PRESENT:
CARTOONING WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN
Do you like drawing comic characters and cartoons? Get your creative juices flowing with this cartooning workshop brought to you by Nanoplex in association with Traveling Man, your friendly neighborhood comics shop. A screening of Dave McKeans Mirrormask will follow the workshop.
Starting at 2pm, children will have the chance to design characters, develop short ideas in a fun workshop session and have the opportunity to produce a ready-to copy mini-comic. Nanoplex volunteers will be on hand to help, alongside staff from Traveling Man, Bristol who will bring along Mirrormask related goodies. All materials provided.

NANOPLEX PRESENTS: HELP- I AM A FISH!
November 4th:
NANOPLEX presents: RIOT OF COLOUR
As part of Bristol Radical History month- Nanoplex brings you a
workshop extraordinaire! Children (5 +) are invited to interact with
works of art and connect to historical events from Bristol~Rs past.
Using details from sketches by Bristol colourist W.J.Muller (1812-45)
of the 1831 Bristol riots, the children will help bring to life
segments that will be filmed/ animated and put together to make up
the original like a giant multi-colored jigsaw. The workshop will be
followed by a screening of Treasure Island at 1:30pm.
