Extending the reach of its film program, the Cube Cinema and Nanoplex has begun a mobile social cinema and cultural exchange for children affected by the Haiti earthquakes - The HAITI KIDS KINO PROJECT (HKKP).
HKKP, a volunteer run project, has been screening feature films for Haitian children, while providing workshops and equipment for children to make their own films to exchange them with children's films made back in the UK.
Haitian children are experiencing untold damage and despair. Further anxiety grows through inaction, loneliness and boredom. Sharing the experience of making and watching films, while offering temporary childcare facilities, HKKP is a goodwill project providing an opening for escape, community, emotion and social occasion.
We facilitate the project, in part, by raising finance through producing wonderful film and music events for children in the UK. Check here for events coming up and those we've done. HKKP requires your support to ensure our screenings. In one week we can project to audiences of 2,000 or more, in a month we're nearing 10,000.
It costs us £500.00 per screening
we screen to up to 500 people at each screening. So, why not donate

FUNDRAISE
Host a fundraiser: online, at your school, in your home, at your office, in a club? HKKP is particularly interested in working with groups that expand cultural and artistic activity, bring awareness to cultures outside the UK, and work with children. That's cinemas, schools, art groups, etc.
